GDL Cookbook - Revised and in PDF Format!
March 9, 2008

We have often searched for this text online, and in various installation packages, but it has been elusive to say the least. Yes, David Nicholson Cole has made a website of the cookbook, but for those who prefer to read on the go, or from the printed page - you can now download a copy of the Cookbook right here!
We were recently given permission to republish the Cookbook to be downloaded here, with the provision that we ask that you please consider making a donation to David - who has worked tirelessly to bring you ArchiCad Universities for many years, and hopefully for many more. (ACU’s are not for profit educational events, something ACE has undertaken to recreate in Canada). We are providing two versions of the book; as a .ZIP archive (all chapters) and chapter-by-chapter. Again - please show your appreciation to David by making a donation. (please specify in your paypal message text ‘cookbook’)
The GDL Cookbook has been a leading text for GDL education since 1998. It has been a paper based book for most of that time. The new GDL Cookbook on ACE extends the cookbook concept to the electronic media era, where things are updated regularly, things are never finally finished, events move too fast for the printed page to keep up. There is a core of GDL knowledge in the first 100 pages, but the remainder of the book is in constant adaptation and renewal – because GDL also changes slightly with each new version of ArchiCAD.
ACE Will soon be posting chapters as individual links in our downloads area.

thanks a lot
thank you and highly appreciated.
Great to have these resources available for download for folks wanting to learn GDL. Thanks, Andy!
A couple of pages that I had written for CB4 did not get included in the PDF here. For those advanced users wanting to understand the XFORM command, those pages and a demo object are available for free download on the ArchICAD Talk GDL Depository in the 01 General section:
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php?
The download title there is “Skewer - an object that distorts other objects”.
Cheers,
Karl
thanks
